Chinese Sweet And Sour chicken.
Basically, Sweet And Sour Chicken is a part of Chinese cuisine but you can
easily get this in all restaurants over the globe.
This type of chicken is very easy to prepare and literally, it takes
only a few minutes to get done.
In this Sweet And Sour Chicken Recipe, I'm using very minimal
ingredients like refined flour, cornstarch, vinegar, and other spices. The
main advantage of this recipe is you can use many sauces whichever you
want the most. In this recipe, I'm using soy sauce and tomato sauce you
can use chili sauce too.
You can enjoy this luscious cuisine with rice, noodles, and also with traditional bread pieces. This homemade Sweet And Sour Chicken is very healthy and lite. After reading and following all the steps mentioned below you can able to make this yummy recipe.
Ingredients required for making Sweet And Sour Chicken:
- 430 grams boneless chicken (Cut into 1-inch pieces)
- 1 egg
- Oil for deep-frying
- 1 tablespoon of refined flour
- Salt to taste
- Crushed black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce (ketchup)
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 1 tablespoon chopped ginger
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 2-3 spring onions chopped
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons of vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch (diluted)
How to make Sweet And Sour Chicken?
Method:
- Heat sufficient amount of oil in a deep frying skillet.
- As usual, take a large mixing bowl and add in chicken pieces, egg, and mix it well.
- To the chicken and egg mixture add refined flour, cornstarch, salt, crushed black pepper, and mix them well.
- Fry the chicken pieces in hot oil and deep fry till the golden brown color is reached and make them crisp.
- Take a nonstick pan and heat a tablespoon of oil once the oil gets heated add in chopped ginger garlic and saute for 30 seconds.
- Add chopped spring onions and saute for 50 seconds. Add tomato sauce(ketchup), soy sauce, and a cup of chicken stock and mix well, cook for 60 seconds.
- Add salt, sugar, crushed black peppers, cornstarch(diluted). Mix well and cook until you get a thick mixture.
- Add vinegar, spring onion greens and crispy chicken pieces, mix them well and cook for 2 minutes.

Tips for improving Sweet And Sour Chicken:
- You can also add a teaspoon of honey if you want a little bit sweeter.
- You can also use colored bell peppers.
- If you want more crunchiness you can sprinkle some sesame seeds over the chicken pieces.
